I have enjoyed a career providing counseling services to children and their families for a little over 20 years. I have worked with kids and families in their homes, within the school system, in residential treatment facilities, at community mental health centers, and now at my private practice.
I believe that counseling can be an invaluable resource for people, of any age, who find themselves struggling. But I also realize that not everyone feels completely comfortable with the idea of counseling and may feel reluctant to talk with a therapist. I strive to make everyone who comes to my office feel relaxed, accepted, and hopeful that they can experience positive change.
I will partner with you and your child to help identify goals for counseling using an approach that is warm, genuine and respectful. My theoretical orientation is best described as client-centered but in order to provide an effective and individualize treatment plan I often incorporate strategies and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play and other Expressive Therapies, Trauma-Informed Care, and Relationship Based Therapies. I'm happy to talk with you and answer any questions that you have about the counseling process.
I look forward to talking with you!
